Standpipe

One of Palmer's specialties is the manufacturing of standpipes. The standpipe is also called a water column and is used primarily for storage of portable water. The standpipe is constructed of high quality A36 carbon steel per API 620. Once the size and thickness has been determined, highly qualified welders begin welding and can have the tank completed in as little as 30 days. The standpipe is then primed at our shop and loaded on a trailer designed and developed by Palmer for transporting the oversized and odd length tanks. We also designed and produceda unique way to load and off-load the standpipe. The idea utilizes a lever arm, by incorporating two handles placed just above center on the standpipe. This allows two smaller cranes to off-load and erect the column without damaging it.
